Block-Print or Screen-Print
On the left is an example of a t-shirt handmade by Cali using the traditional block-printing method. Each one of these t-shirts is unique and full of character. On the right, is the same t-shirt made by a family-owned screen-printing company. Every t-shirt is carefully crafted to retain the authentic block-printed look while bringing new life to the design.

The Sketch
Each unique design begins with a brainstorming session by Cali, VesperTwine's artist. She sketches dozens of ideas inspired by the whimsy of space and nature until one calls out to her, asking to be something more.
The Carving
Once she finalizes her chosen illustration, she transfers it into a linoleum block. From here, she spends hours meticulously carving every line. Carving is the most time-consuming part of the process, but she loves it.
The Print
With a brayer, she rolls several layers of fabric-safe ink onto the finished carving. Then, she moves to her hand-operated printing press and transfers the design onto the garment. After weeks, she's eager to see the final print.
The Vector
After printing, Cali takes a high-quality photo of the print and digitally converts it into a vector image. She sends this file to California to be screen-printed onto t-shirts by a family-owned company.
The Reason
And finally, someone unbelievably cool stumbles across her (my) shop. Whether you like the block-printed or screen-printed option, they both retain the history of Cali's original design, which was made just for you.
